2024 Game Awards: Astro Bot Takes Home Top Honor

The big winner of the night was Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, which took home the Game of the Year award. Developed by Japan Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Astro Bot is a platformer game that follows the story of a robot named Astro who must rescue his crewmates from an alien planet.

Astro Bot’s innovative gameplay, charming design, and impressive graphics made it a standout among this year’s nominees. The game’s creator, Nicolas Doucet, accepted the award on stage, thanking the team and the fans for their support.

Other notable winners of the night included The Last of Us Part II, which took home the awards for Best Narrative and Best Performance, and Death Stranding, which won the award for Best Score/Music.

The ceremony also featured several musical performances, including a live concert by the Game Awards Orchestra, as well as appearances by celebrities such as Stephen A. Smith and Lil Nas X.
