The demonstrations, fueled by public discontent regarding economic issues and Vučić’s push for closer ties with Russia, have gained significant traction in the last few weeks. Speaking at a press conference, Vučić stated that he would immediately resign as Prime Minister in order to address the demands of the people. “It is important for the stability of the country and our relations with the international community that I surrender my position as Prime Minister,” he stated. As protesters continue to gather on the streets, calls for a new government and fresh elections have been raised. As the situation unfolds, it remains unclear who will take the reins of Serbia’s government.
